Behind every photograph is a person deeply loved, a family forever changed, and memories that will never fade. We were honoured to share Josh’s story as part of the loss booklet, 12 Memories of Sudden and Unexpected Loss, created by London’s Air Ambulance Charity. Through these 12 heartfelt tributes, we hope that families facing sudden bereavement may find the bereavement support they need, knowing they are not alone in their grief. Forever loved. Forever remembered.

We are honoured to share a booklet featuring 12 remarkable stories of sudden and unexpected loss, and we are proud that Josh is among those selected.

Today, we introduce a unique resource: a loss booklet that captures 12 poignant memories of sudden and unexpected bereavement.  

In this booklet, 12 families have come together to share their most cherished memories of losing a loved one in an abrupt manner. This collection serves as a heartfelt tribute to each beautiful individual who has tragically lost their life. Through these stories, we aspire for this loss booklet to:  

- Provide grief resources for those navigating the painful journey of sudden and unexpected bereavement.  

- Offer insight to those who are not personally bereaved, yet may be caring for or supporting someone facing the anguish of sudden loss.  

Our intention is to make this booklet available to anyone who may find comfort in it—whether as an individual, a family, a friend, or a professional.  

While death is often treated as a taboo subject, it is vital to break this silence and engage in open conversations. By discussing death honestly, we can foster understanding, cultivate compassion, and prepare for the inevitable end of life.  

In addition to providing care in the crucial moments following injury and illness, London’s Air Ambulance Charity strives to support patients and their families during the bereavement process. Tragically, despite our best efforts, some patients do not survive, leaving their families to grapple with the inconceivable pain of being suddenly and unexpectedly bereaved.

Our Story
